On a whim, at the very end of 2013, I began sharing my lifestyle and fitness thoughts. You read and embraced them, and we forged a bond. We’ve crossed the six month threshold together, and Kaplifestyle has amassed almost 700,000 views. I’m more inspired to connect with y’all now than ever before.
As a celebratory gesture and as part of our collective effort to spread the wellness messages we discuss here, I’m giving away a game used bat. In order to participate in the contest, we ask that you share a link to the site so that others who may not know about our blog can move with us as we continue to stride in the direction of good health.
Thanks for your continued support and much love,
Kap

I think I’ve been here from either at or near the very beginning of the blog. Love it. Long time Kap fan, since I am a huge Red Sox fan. Thanks for the daily reminders and tips to keep us on track and educated us along the way. Constantly learning new things and challenging myself. Thanks Kap!
Let’s get the Sox turned around, Janinne.
6 months later, 30 lbs lighter, and a million times happier. I, like many, fire up kaplifestyle each day around 11ish (EST). Hours after hard boiled eggs, coffee, blueberries, almonds etc. I digest your thoughts, research and musings then close my browser a little more informed than I was 5 minutes before. Happy anniversary to all who make kaplifestyle exhist.
This is remarkably important to me, Chris. Thanks for the powerful feedback.
Thank you for being a change agent and inspiration for so many in the health & wellness revolution and going about it in the right way. Continued success to you Kap!
Much respect, Dave.

Congrats on 6 months! Thank you for your willingness to open your life to us. Much appreciated Kap!
Gratitude right back atcha, Duane.
I wanted to let you know that I bumped into your site and became a fan. I had been working out since I was 13yrs old and just over 2 ½ years ago had a work related accident that stopped my workouts. I had to figure out how to go from 4500 calories to between 1000 to 1500. I completely tore my triceps tendon off the bone and hurt my neck. The triceps feels great but fighting insurance to fix my neck.
I’m limited to about an hour of walking per day before the pain takes over and I have to crash on my couch. I’ve gotten great food ideas from you that helped me lose 40 pounds down to 205lbs. I have lost all my muscle but look forward down the road to tackle your workouts and see all my friends at the gym again.
Being 49yrs old I hope that some of the muscles come back and I can enjoy what working out has been for me, Keep up the great ideas and I will be following you.

Thanks so much for this note, Joe. Please do hit me when you’re back to full force so that we can brainstorm on how to get that muscle tissue back. In the meantime, make sure you get plenty of anti-inflammatory foods to give yourself the best shot to stay feeling strong. In case you missed that post, here it is. http://kaplifestyle.com/2014/01/anti-inflammatories
Thanks again,

Hey Kap,
The best compliment I can give you and the blog is every post has given me something to think about & some have lead to changes in how I think about life style & nutrition… except maybe the Motley Crew lyrics, I’m still confused by them!
Keep up the great work.
Thanks,
Eoin
Ha. I’m still confused by them too, Eoin. Appreciate your kind words.

Kap,
I am a huge fan of the site even though its very new to me. Just read about it on Yahoo a little over a week ago and I think there is a ton of great info on here. I still play ball in a mens league on Long Island, and I have been spreading the word to all my teammates. I will say I’ve been surprised that not all my teammates remember you as a MLBer. Each time I exclaim “Are You Serious!!” I dont understand how any ballplayer from my generation (im 29) doesn’t remember you. I always enjoyed watching you play and give you a ton of credit because you are one of those guys who worked to get there and wasn’t just blessed with the highest of talent. I wonder what a guy like Miggy could do if he worked like you did/do. Anyway I have adopted your 5×5 workout and a lot of your healthy eating tips already into my plan. About a month ago I decided I needed to make a change and drop about 30 pounds of lazy weight Ive been carrying, I am 6’4″ and about 240, I’ve been running (42 miles in June), hitting the gym for weights and doing bodyweight circuits at home and the month of June yielded a 12 pound drop so I’m down to 228 already and working towards my goal of 200-210 and then setting up new goals. The 5×5 has definitely focused my workouts and I am excited about the road ahead. I’ve also cleaned up the diet and I have added a few tips from your site already and will continue to as time progresses. Thanks for the great site and congrats on 6 months. I will continue to spread the word to as many people as possible and hopefully help you reach a lot more people.
Thanks Again,
-Tom-
PS - Im a NYer and a Yankee fan so I much more enjoyed your tenures in Detroit, Texas and Tampa to that of you championship in Boston although you may disagree hahaha.
Wow, Tom. That’s a hell of a strong endorsement. Thanks very much. Keep busting your ass. It’s worth it.
Kap
Kap, love the blog and pass it along to as many people as I can. Keep up the good work!
PS ~ I’m still the only Rays fan walking around w/a Kapler shirt!!
I imagine those Rays/Kapler shirts are few and far between. Thanks for the love.
I’ve been following the blog since the beginning. I’m 30 lbs. lighter and by doing the 5 X 5 workouts, I’m much stronger. I’ve also taken the “fat doesn’t make you fat, sugar does” mantra to heart and now thoroughly enjoy my much more natural diet. Love those hard boiled eggs. Thanks Gabe, keep it up.
Thanks,
Chris
Appreciate it, Chris. I’m working on the perfect fried egg now. I’ll keep you posted on my progress, you keep me posted on yours. Deal?

I only just discovered your blog this past May, through a friend. But, I can’t begin to tell you the impact you’ve made already on my life! One of your first posts detailing your personal weekly workout routine, encouraged me to look into the 5×5 program further. I haven’t looked back since. I’m only in week 6 of this fantastic fitness routine and have gained ten pounds of muscle. Most of that, I’m certain, stems directly from all your blog posts on nutrition that I’ve implemented in my own diet, but specially, your post on how to gain weight was extremely helpful. I have one word for you…Butter. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me and please, Keep ’em coming!
Seriously. Is there anything that isn’t improved with butter? Keep up the strong work, Sean.

I’ve been along for the ride since day one. I became a big fan of your writing when you started doing guest spots at Baseball Prospectus. Your articles were written from a perspective that was insightful, unfiltered and unique. In addition to being a baseball nut, I am also into fitness and nutrition. Crossfit and paleo became a part of my family’s lifestyle a few years ago and while we have not been perfect in following the plan it has clearly had a huge impact on our lives. That makes the content of your blog right in my wheelhouse. Thank you and please keep up the great work.
Steve, our interests are remarkably aligned. Thanks for the support.

Congrats Gabe! Been a reader since you mentioned it on BAD radio. Love it and looking forward to more!
