Mike Lowell:
Gabe, thanks for the posts. I really enjoy the broad range of topics you cover, especially the nutrition. As a fellow retired athlete, I feel compelled to still push myself and try to get the most out my workouts and fitness routine. I’m grateful I have someone who steers in the right direction. You’re the best!!
David Price:
Throughout my time in professional sports I have yet to see anyone with the routine and knowledge that Kap had in both the weight room and while eating
AJ Ellis:
Gabe’s lifestyle and performance blog is a daily must-read. Kap’s advice and insight targets individuals of all ages who want to want to improve their life through nutrition and exercise with a little bit of personality sprinkled in.
Mark DeRosa:
Ever since we shared a field in Double A, Gabe has always been a guy I’ve followed! You could tell he made every team he played on better! So when I found kaplifestyle.com on twitter, it was a great way for me to reconnect. Obviously he’s still an absolute beast! This website is terrific and I look forward to following for many years to come!
Elliot Johnson:
Kap not only brings plenty of credibility as provided by his career and his photographs of his body, but he also has practical ideas of how to become a better athlete or just healthier in general. He first told me a few small steps to take back in the spring of 2009 while we were with the Rays and I’ve followed them ever since. He said to start eating berries and greens every day, drink plenty of water, buy organic if possible, and avoid sugary items but dark chocolate is great.
I’ve found that spinach or kale is easy to introduce by substituting it where lettuce used to be. Berries are a great breakfast or snack option anytime. Dark chocolate almonds and some organic peanut butter is my go-to for dessert or hearty snack in between meals. I carry a half gallon jug of water around all day to monitor and measure my intake.
Anyone can do these things and it makes a huge difference in how I my body feels especially after grueling regular offseason workouts.
Thanks to Kap for planting the seeds of better health.
Justin Ruggiano:
I always start out my day reading two things; a Rick Warren daily devotional and Gabe Kapler’s newest blog post. Kaplifestyle provides me with the latest and best advice on healthy eating and working out as an athlete. I encourage everyone – new to the fitness world, or a pro already – to read Kaplifestyle daily. It’s educational and informative for all levels.
Trevor Plouffe:
Kap’s vast knowledge of training and nutrition is only paralleled by his commitment to consistency. I’ve learned an enormous amount about fitness by just being around him, as his passion for the topic is magnetic.
